Amanda (Mandi) Muse, M.S., is a Founding Research Coordinator in the Center for Research and Collaborative Partnerships in the School of Public Affairs at American University where she manages multi-agency grant-related projects, coordinates training and project implementation, and supports research operations.
Mandi specializes in research and data management, project and program coordination, and criminal justice education and student support. She is an experienced research and academic professional with a background in higher education, criminology, and public affairs. Previously, she was a Senior Research Associate, Research Associate, and held a long tenure as a Departmental Academic Advisor at Missouri State University’s Criminology and Criminal Justice Department.
Mandi has participated in various research projects, presented at national and regional conferences, and has been recognized for excellence in advising and leadership in community. Her recent research projects include providing technical support and project implementation for a risk and needs assessment for justice-involved veterans, data-driven and evidence-based policy reform to reduce disparities, interviewing Veterans Treatment Court members, working with Verizon employees to highlight Veterans Treatment Courts impact through publication and in person events, and National Institute of Justice’s Veteran’s Treatment Court Multisite Evaluation. Outside of work, Mandi volunteers with the Junior League of Northern Virginia.
