The University of St. Thomas Law Journal’s Fall 2023 Symposium explored opportunities to stand in solidarity with veterans who are impacted by the legal system. Sponsored by the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership and supported by the Veterans Defense Project, this event was designed to educate and inspire a variety of stakeholders, including students, lawyers, judges, professors, veterans service organizations, and community members who desire to support veterans. Dr. Julie Baldwin, American University, spoke on Panel 1 – Exploring the Model Veterans Justice Act and the current status of Veterans Treatment Courts.

On November 21, 2024, American University and Verizon co-hosted Voices of Valor: Transformative Journeys Through Veterans Treatment Courts at Verizon’s Technology Policy Center in Washington, D.C. The event marked the launch of a compelling publication by the same name dedicated to advancing awareness and efforts surrounding Veterans Treatment Courts (VTCs).
