Monica Christofferson, J.D., is a seasoned professional who has 16 years of experience working in, with, and alongside courts and non-profits to improve justice and safety for everyone. She currently runs North Side Consulting LLC, a firm specialized in systems change, strategic planning, and management coaching. Prior to this she was a Director in the training and technical assistance team at the Center for Justice Innovation. There she provided consulting services to jurisdictions nationally and internationally to improve the administration and implementation of alternatives to incarceration programs. Her expertise ranges from treatment courts to municipal reform to intimate partner violence, civil legal services, and access to justice programs. Prior to her work at the Center, Ms. Christofferson developed, implemented, and directed the specialized domestic violence docket in Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court. Ms. Christofferson has also worked as a crisis intervention specialist and independent living program manager. She has authored a range of publications on treatment courts and presented her expertise at dozens of conferences.
